Anti-theft alarm
1 - Switch control LED on the middle console
The anti-theft alarm is ready for use in about 15 seconds if the car has been locked with the key. This is confirmed by the flashing of the control LED -1-.
If the vehicle is unlocked with the key, the alarm is deactivated.
Note. If the vehicle is unlocked with the emergency key instead of the main key, an alarm will sound.
The alarm can only be turned off by inserting the key into the ignition or by pressing the or buttons on the key.
The alarm is triggered if, when the anti-theft alarm is operational:
- The door was open;
- The trunk was opened;
- The hood was open.
Audible Alarm: An additional intermittent chime sounds for 30 seconds.
Warning lights: The warning lights flash for about 5 minutes at twice the flashing rate.
The alarm remains activated even if, for example, an open door is immediately closed.
Towing protection device, interior protection device
The switch is located on the center console.
Push switch:
- 1. Switching off the towing protection device
- 2. Switch off interior protection device
Switching off the towing protection device
To avoid false alarms, the towing protection device must be switched off during the intended transport or when the vehicle is being loaded onto a vehicle.
Turn the ignition key to position 0 or 1.
Press the switch at the top -1-. The control LED -3- on the single lock switch lights up briefly.
If the interior protection device is also to be switched off, wait until the control LED goes out.
Lock the car with the key.
The towing protection device remains deactivated until the next key lock is performed.
Interior protection device
The interior protection device is ready for operation in approximately 30 seconds if the vehicle has been locked.
An alarm is triggered in case of breaking the side windows and entering the passenger compartment.
Note. Raise the side windows and close the sliding and lifting sunroof.
Do not leave any items (e.g. mascots or hangers) suspended from the interior rear-view mirror or handrails on the ceiling of the passenger compartment - they can cause false alarms.
Switching off the interior protector
If people or animals are to remain in the locked vehicle, turn off the interior protection device to prevent false alarms.
Turn the ignition key to position 0 or 1.
Press the switch at the bottom -2-. The control LED on the single lock switch flashes briefly.
If the towing protection device is also to be switched off, wait until the control LED goes out.
Lock the car with the key.
The interior protection device remains deactivated until the next time the key is locked.
