Removal and installation the daylight sensor (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Note: The daytime running light sensor is installed on the windshield at the height of the rearview mirror.


Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.


2. Remove the cover (1).

3. Disconnect the connector (2).


3. Disconnect the connector (2).

4. Open the clamps with a screwdriver (arrows in the illustration) and remove the daylight sensor (3).

Note: The sensor lens is glued to the windshield. The lens should only be replaced at a service station.


Installation



1. Insert and secure the sensor.



2. Connect the sensor connector.

3. Install and secure the cover by pressing it down.

4. Connect the battery ground (-) cable with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the clock.
