Removal and installation the loudspeaker (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Loudspeaker in the door



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.


2. Remove the door trim, refer to Section Removal and installation the front door trim.

3. Disconnect the speaker connector (1).

4. Remove 3 screws (arrows in the illustration) and remove the speaker with the housing from the door.

Installation



1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

2. Connect the battery ground (-) cable with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the clock.

Tweeter in the front doors



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.




2. Remove the triangle cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the triangular overlay.

3. Disconnect the tweeter connector (1).


3. Disconnect the tweeter connector (1).

4. Carefully release the locking tabs with a screwdriver (arrows in the illustration) and remove the tweeter from the triangular cover.

Installation



1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

2. Connect the battery ground (-) cable with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the clock.

Loudspeaker in the instrument panel



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.


2. Remove the air vent from the instrument panel, refer to Section Removal and installation ventilation deflectors.

3. Disconnect the speaker connector.

4. Using a screwdriver, remove the speaker from the back of the air vent from the holder and then from the instrument panel.

Installation



1. Insert the speaker into the holder and fix it.



2. Connect the connector.

3. Insert the upper ventilation deflector and secure with four screws.

4. Insert the cover into the instrument panel and secure it.

5. Connect the battery ground (-) cable with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the clock.

Loudspeaker in the shelf - sedan



Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver's security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.

2. Using a plastic wedge, remove the speaker cover from the shelf as described in Section Removal and installation the shelf.

3. Disconnect the speaker connector.

4. Open the trunk.

5. Press the speaker locking tabs (1) inward and remove the speaker from the housing.


5. Press the speaker locking tabs (1) inward and remove the speaker from the housing.

6. Remove 4 screws and detach the speaker from the housing.

Installation



1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

2. Connect the battery ground (-) cable with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the clock.
