Diagnosing faults in the oil circulation circuit
CAUSE | REMEDY | |
| Low oil pressure after engine start | Very hot oil | Ignore if the oil pressure returns to normal after pressing the accelerator pedal. |
| Too low oil pressure at low engine speeds | Oil pressure relief valve closes in open position due to contamination | Disassemble and check the valve. |
| Too low oil pressure at normal engine speed | Too little oil in the engine | Add oil. |
| The suction cap filter is dirty | Disassemble the oil pan. Clean the suction filter. | |
| The oil suction tube has come off or is broken | Disassemble the oil pan, check the oil suction pipe. | |
| Oil pump wear | Remove the oil pump and check it, replace if necessary. | |
| Bearing damage | Disassemble the engine and repair it. | |
| Oil level warning light is on | Oil level too low | Add engine oil. |
