Attention! Some standard car radios are coded. The anti-theft coding prevents incompetent commissioning of the machine if the power supply is interrupted. The electrical system, for example, is interrupted when the wires are disconnected from the battery terminals, when the radio is removed, or if the radio's fuse is blown. If the radio is coded, fix the radio code before disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals. If the code is not known, only a Mercedes workshop can put the car radio back into operation.
1. Bolts; 2. Holder; 3. Terminal negative pole; 4. Terminal positive pole; 5. Turbopipe for removal of released gases; 6. Positive pole protective cover; G1. Accumulator battery
Removing
1. The ignition key must not be inserted.
2. Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, first the wire (3), connecting battery pole (–) with the car body, then the positive wire (4) (+), to do this, fold up the protective cover (6).
3. Remove the pipeline from the battery (5) to remove escaping gases.
4. Unscrew and remove the bolts (1) to mounting plate (2) battery based. The 100 Ah battery has only one bolt.
5. Remove the battery.
Attention! Batteries contain hazardous substances that must not be disposed of in household waste. When buying a new battery, return the old battery to the seller or hand it over to special waste storage points.
Installation
1. Before installation, clean the battery poles to a shine, a brass wire brush is suitable for this. Coat both poles with anti-acid grease to prevent corrosion.
2. Install the battery, push it onto the mounting plate and screw it tight.
3. Slide the fumes vent pipe over the battery.
4. Connect the terminals positive wire to the positive pole (+), then negative (hull) wire to the negative pole.
Attention! Connect the wires to the storage battery only when the ignition is off, otherwise the control device of the fuel injection system may be damaged. Incorrect battery connection can cause significant damage to the generator and electrical system.
Attention! Pay attention to perfect connections with the car body and clean contacts. High contact resistance leads, especially during start-up, to an overload of electronic control devices and can, in extreme cases, cause their failure.
5. Close the protective cover on the positive pole and fix it.
6. Set the time on the clock.
7. Enter anti-theft code for radio (see subsection 13.1.16.).
