This part of Chapter 2 includes a description of the work associated with removing the engine-transmission unit from the machine, and the main types of repair of the head and cylinder block, as well as other engine systems.
It provides a variety of information, ranging from advice on preparing for repairs, ending with a step-by-step description of the procedures for disassembling, removing, checking the condition, rebuilding, assembling and installing internal systems and engine devices.
Beginning with paragraph 7 all instructions assume the engine has been removed from the vehicle. For information relating to repair work without removing the engine from the machine, as well as the removal and installation of engine attachments, including those requiring repair, refer to parts A, B and C of this chapter and paragraph 7. Skip all preparatory operations described in parts A, B and C if they have already been performed when removing the engine from the vehicle.
With the exception of tightening torques, which are given at the beginning of parts A, B and C, all technical data regarding engine repair are given at the beginning of this part of chapter 2.
