Lubrication of the throttle linkage (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W201)

1. Check the condition of the throttle linkage components. If the components are worn or damaged, replace them. Brush off any dirt with a soft brush or cloth.

2. Lubricate with light oil or grease all moving parts of the throttle lever mechanism and, where necessary, the control levers for downshifting and driving at a constant speed (see fig. 5.2). Please note that on some models, the air cleaner must be removed to access the lever mechanism components (see Chapter 4).
