Removal



1. Remove the lower portion of the instrument panel on the driver's side as described in Chapter 11.

2. Make sure the ignition is off, then disconnect the connector from the brake light switch (see fig. 16.2).

3. Press the folder on the side of the switch housing, then turn the switch and remove it from the pedal bracket.

4. To install the switch, pull the brake light switch pusher out of the housing until it reaches 1/2 of its length (see fig. 16.4).

5. Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it in this position. Replace the switch. Rotate the switch until it clicks into place on the bracket. Slowly release the brake pedal, allowing it to return to the stop. This will automatically adjust the brake light switch.
