Checking the heated rear window (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W220)

When the rear window heating is turned on, the field with visible wire lines should be cleared of covering or snow after a while.

1. If there are any faults, first check the fuse in the fuse box.

2. If the fuse is OK, remove the rear window trim and check the connector connection on the left and right side of the window. Clean off any corrosion if necessary.

3. If the heating still does not work, check the comfort electrical control module.

4. If the heater wires are torn, you can use regular conductive varnish for repair. To do this, clean the damaged area with thinner or ethylene.

5. Cover the damaged area on both sides with adhesive tape and apply conductive varnish with a small brush.

6. Dry the paint at a temperature of about +25°C for 24 hours. Hot air can also be used for this. At a temperature of +150°C the paint dries in 30 minutes.

Warning! Do not turn on the rear window heating until the paint is completely dry. Do not use gasoline or other solvents to clean damaged parts.
