Checking the valve timing

1. Check camshaft codes. The camshaft code is stamped on the 3rd bearing journal and on the camshaft flange.
2. Install the cam of cylinder 1 or 6 with the working lug up so that it does not press on the hydraulic compensator.
3. Install the retainer (02) threaded sleeve (04) on the contact surface of the cylinder head of the camshaft being checked.
4. Install digital instrument (01) with probe (03) (80 mm) on the latch (02) on the left side of the camshaft being checked. Install the feeler gauge with 3 mm preload and at a 90°angle to the hydraulic lifter.
5. Rotate the crankshaft with a wrench in the direction of rotation until the digital gauge indicates 2 mm valve lift. In this position, check the opening phase of the valve under test on the crankshaft pulley and compare with the data in the table below.
