Removal
1. Unscrew the connecting rod caps and remove the connecting rods together with the pistons. Note that the connecting rods and connecting rod caps of one cylinder have the same designation.

2. Check the connecting rod bolts.
3. Remove the retaining ring with a screwdriver and press out the piston pin.

4. Check the clearances in the piston ring joints and between the rings and piston grooves.
Installation
1. Lubricate the piston pin and connecting rod bushing.

2. Install the piston so that the numbers (5) and (6) are facing the direction of movement and the mark on the connecting rod and cover (9) is facing the outside of the engine.

3. Press in the piston pin by hand.

4. Insert the retaining ring into the groove. Lubricate the cylinder bores, connecting rod journals, bearings and pistons with engine oil.

5. Install the piston ring mandrel (1) and insert the piston into the cylinder in the direction of travel, following the arrow or number on the piston.

6. Install the connecting rod caps.
7. Turn the crankshaft and check for ease of rotation.
