Removal
Timing Chain Cover Installation Details
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the compressed air supply tube (3).
3. Remove the fan clutch.
4. Remove the generator drive belt.
5. Remove the radiator (14).
6. Remove the pulleys of the cooling system pump (5) and the power steering pump (6).
7. Remove the cylinder head cover.
8. Remove the vacuum pump (9).
9. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position.
10. Install the retainer (03) onto the flywheel.
11. Remove the oil cooler (17) from the pan.
12. Remove the vibration damper (77).
13. Remove the generator.
14. Remove the generator bracket (2).
15. Unscrew the tray mounting bolts (8).
16. Remove the pipes (1) and (4) on the front of the cylinder head.
17. Unscrew the power steering pump (30).
18. Remove the guide lever pins (32) from the cylinder head.
19. Remove the tensioner (33) of the generator drive belt.
20. Unscrew the fuel injection pump mounting bolts (5) to the timing chain cover.
Timing Chain Cover Installation Details
A — Bolt with gasket M6x60
B — Bolt with gasket M6x70
C — Bolt with gasket M6x40
1. Unscrew the TDC sensor mounting bracket (36).
2. Loosen the timing chain cover mounting bolts (40) and remove it.
3. Wipe the sealing surfaces of the timing chain cover and cylinder block.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
