4 - Drain plug of the oil pan AT; 9 - Drain plug of the torque converter; 26 - Electrical wiring connector; 33 - Gear shift lever; 46 - Ground busbar; 49 - Oil pipeline; 61 - Oil filler tube; 62 - Shield; 81 - Torque converter cover; 95 - Bolt


1. The details of the AT installation are presented in the illustration, to which all references in the text refer.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the transfer case (see Chapter Transmission line).

4. Remove the oil filler pipe (61) from the engine.

5. Remove the drain plug (4) from the AT pan and drain the ATF from the transmission housing - do not forget to replace the sealing washer.

6. Unscrew the plug (9) and drain the ATF from the torque converter, - do not forget to replace the sealing washer.

7. Remove the shield (62) and disconnect the 13-pin connector (26) of the electrical wiring of the electrical unit of the shift control unit.

8. Disconnect the parking lock activation cable.

9. Remove the bolts (95) securing the torque converter to the drive disk, then remove the torque converter cover (81).



10. Disconnect the left and right oil lines (49) from the oil radiator.

11. After releasing the lock, disconnect the gear shift rod (63) from the actuator lever (33) of the AT (see illustration AT shift drive design).

12. Remove the cooling system fan (see Chapter Cooling, heating and air conditioning systems).

13. Disconnect the ground bus (46) from the AT crankcase.

14. Support the transmission with a jack.

15. Unscrew the mounting bolts and, jacking the transmission assembly back and down, separate it from the cylinder block and remove it from under the vehicle.

16. Remove the torque converter.

17. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
