1 - Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) Lock Cable; 1a - Locking tabs; 1b - Locking tongue; 1c - Connector; 2 - Retainer; N15/5 - Electronic selector module; S2/1 - Ignition switch (EIS)


1. The EIS lock cable connection details are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the cover on the left under the instrument panel.

4. Press the locking tabs (1a) together and disconnect the EIS lock cable (1) from the ignition switch (S2/1).

5. Disconnect the cable (1) from the selector module (N15/5) (see Section Removal and installation the selector module) and release it from the instrument panel.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the blocker is functioning properly - the selector lever should be allowed to leave the "P" position only when the foot brake pedal is depressed and the ignition switch is in position "2", removing the key from the lock should only be possible in the "P" position of the selector lever.
