Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.

2. Engine 112: Remove the upper engine cover or air cleaner from the cylinder head covers.

3. Release the electrical wires going to the injectors. Mark the position of the cable connector to facilitate subsequent installation.

4. Disconnect the injector connectors by pressing in the wire clip.

5. Relieve the fuel pressure, refer to Section Relieving pressure in the fuel system.

6. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel distribution line. If fuel leaks out, wipe it with a rag.

7. C32AMG: Remove the upper part of the charge air distributor upwards.

8. Disconnect the fuel distribution line and remove it together with the injectors from the intake manifold.

9. Remove the retaining clip from the side of the injector and remove the injector from the fuel rail.

Installation

1. Place new sealing rings (3) and (4) on the injectors (2) and lightly lubricate them.

1. Place new sealing rings (3) and (4) on the injectors (2) and lightly lubricate them.

2. Insert the injectors into the fuel rail and secure it with the retaining clip (1) so that the clip fits into the square guide of the injector.

3. Check the sealing rings on the fuel distribution line and replace if necessary. Lubricate the rings with clean engine oil before installation.

4. Insert the fuel rail with injectors into the intake manifold or onto the lower part of the charge air distributor and tighten with a torque of 9 Nm.

5. Secure the fuel line to the pipe with a torque of 38 Nm.

6. Reinstall the upper part of the air intake manifold.

7. Connect the injector connectors and secure. Route the cable as it was before removal and secure with a connector.

8. Install the top engine cover or air filter.

9. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the clock.
