Removing
Familiarize yourself with the safety precautions for handling the airbag.
Note. The illustrations are informative and may not fully correspond to the model in question.
1. Disconnect the negative cable (-) battery with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must first be removed.
Attention! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the security code of the radio, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.
2. Isolate both poles of the battery to prevent accidental contact.
3. Fully pull out the steering wheel by releasing the lock lever.
4. Turn inside out through the holes on the steering wheel (1) two 30mm Allen screws while holding the airbag assembly.
Note. In the illustration, the airbag unit has already been removed. (2) - Turn signal switch.
5. Remove the airbag unit (3) from the steering wheel and disconnect the connector (4) fuse.
6. Lay the airbag unit so that the steering wheel cushion is facing up.
Attention! Do not leave the airbag unit unattended, remove and close if necessary.
Installation
1. Put the airbag unit on the steering wheel and fix the connector so that a distinct click is heard.
2. Lubricate the mounting bolts with thread locking compound and tighten to 6Nm.
3. Connect ground cable (-) battery with the ignition off. Install the cabin air filter box. If necessary, enter the radio code and set the time on the clock.
