Engine hood rod — removal and installation (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W202)

Removal

1. Remove the cover under the engine hood lock by pressing the top of the spring clips upwards away from the cross member with a screwdriver. Remove the cover downwards.

2. Remove the two hood lock bolts.

3. Disconnect the hood rod from the lock and holder.

Installation

1. When hanging the rod, make sure that the return spring of the lock secures the nipple of the flexible rod.

2. Place the flexible rod casing with the plastic part into the hood lock support.

3. Screw the lock on and secure the cover with spring clips.
