Rear anti-roll bar connecting link — removal and installation (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W201)

Note: New link nuts are required during installation.


Removal



1. Place chocks under the front wheels, then raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and securely support it on stands (see "Lifting the car with a jack and placing it on supports"). Remove the corresponding wheel.

2. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the protective cover from the base of the lower suspension arm.

3. Loosen and remove the nuts securing each link to the stabilizer bar.

4. Loosen the nut and bolt securing the connecting link to the lower arm and remove the link. If wear or damage is found on the link, replace it.

Installation



5. Install the link in place and install the lower link mounting bolt.

6. Install the new nut onto the link stud and tighten it to the required torque. Then tighten the new lower bolt nut to the required torque.

7. Install the sewn cover onto the lower arm and tighten the mounting screws securely.

8. Install the rear wheels and lower the car to the ground. Tighten the wheel mounting bolts.
