Disassembly
K3 clutch design
44a - Outer support; 44b - O-ring; 44c - Piston; 44d - Spring plate; 44e, 44h - Retaining rings; 44f - Disc spring; 44g - Disc block; 072 - Puller
1. Remove retaining ring (44h) from an external support.
2. Remove the drive unit (44g) and disc spring (44f) from an external support.
3. Install the puller (072) on the spring plate (44d) and press it until the retaining ring (44e) will not be released.
4. Remove retaining ring (44e).
5. Remove the spring plate (44d) and piston (44c) from an external support.
Assembly
Checking the gap between the circlip (44g) and outer disc (41a)
37 - Friction discs 1.6 mm thick / new thickness 2.1 mm; 41a - Outer disc 4.0 mm thick; 41b - Outer disc 3.5 mm thick/new 2.8 mm thick; 41c - Outer disc 1.8 mm thick; 44a - K3 outer clutch support; 44g - Retaining ring; 44h - Disc spring; L - Gap
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. Check clearance between retaining ring (44g) and outer disc (41a). The size of the gaps in the K3 clutch is shown in the table below. If necessary, adjust the gap by selecting the retaining ring (44g) required thickness. Rings are available in thicknesses of 2.0, 2.3, 2.6, 2.9, 3.2 and 3.5 mm.
The size of the gaps in the clutch K3
Disk | Gap size, mm | |
3 | 2.30 | 2.70-3.10 |
4 | 2.40 | 3.00-3.40 |
5 | 2.50 | 3.30-3.70 |
