Description of the front suspension design (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W126)

The front suspension is independent and has coil springs, upper and lower control arms, support arms and telescopic shock absorbers. Between the upper control arms is fixed the anti-roll bar. All suspension mounting points have rubber cushions. The steering knuckles are attached to the control arms by means of closed ball joints. Adjustable front hub bearings are of the tapered roller type.
