The handbrake acts on the rear wheels via two drum brakes.
Jack up and support the rear of the car.
Apply the handbrake 2 clicks and turn both wheels by hand. You should feel a certain braking effect.
Set the handbrake to 3-5 clicks. The rear wheels should lock.
If this does not happen, adjust the handbrake.
