Engines 611.962 with no. 257722 and 612.962
If the engine has stopped due to the complete consumption of fuel, air should be bled from the fuel system after refueling.
To do this, make attempts to start the engine no longer than 60 seconds each, until it reaches even operation.
It is possible that after work or maintenance of the fuel system, air from the low pressure fuel circuit will need to be removed using a vacuum pump and a container for collecting diesel fuel.
Air removal
1. Remove the engine top covers, refer to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine.
2. Press the circlip (1) on the vent valve (2) in the direction of the arrow and remove the cap (3).
3. Push the suction port of the vacuum pump into the bleeder valve until it releases.
4. Connect the piping between the suction port and the vacuum pump container.
5. Attach the pump with the vacuum side to the container.
6. Pump the pump so that fuel flows into the vacuum pump container without air bubbles.
7. Press the retaining ring on the bleed valve in the direction of the arrow and disconnect the intake manifold.
8. Insert the plug into the bleed valve until it locks into place.
9. Install the engine top covers, refer to Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine.
