Note: Removal of ignition coils of 6-cylinder petrol engine is described in Section Checking and replacing spark plugs. Checking the condition of high-voltage wires.


Removal



1. Engine 111: Disconnect the ignition coil cover (1).

2. Engine 271: Remove the top engine cover (1).

3. Disconnect the connector (2) of the ignition coil (3).


3. Disconnect the connector (2) of the ignition coil (3).



4. Remove the 2 ignition coil mounting bolts (4) using an 8 mm Torx key.

5. Remove the ignition coil vertically upwards. At the same time, disconnect the connector from the…


5. Remove the ignition coil vertically upwards. At the same time, disconnect the connector from the spark plug.

6. Remove all ignition coils in the same manner.

Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Secure the ignition coils with a torque of 9 Nm.
