Normal oil consumption occurs due to the combustion of a correspondingly small amount of oil in the cylinder, the removal of combustion products and abrasion particles. In addition, oil is consumed due to high temperatures and high pressure in the engine. External factors such as driving style and manufacturing tolerances also influence oil consumption. In the normal case, this consumption is so low that only a small top-up is required between the prescribed oil change intervals.
Oil should be added when the "Nachfull" (top-up) mark is reached (maximum amount of oil to be added is 2 l).
Attention! Do not fill the engine oil above the "Maximal" mark. If too much oil is poured, the excess must be drained. Otherwise, the catalytic converter may be damaged, since unburned oil penetrates into the exhaust device.
