If your car is additionally equipped with an airbag, then this can be found by the inscription "SRS-AIRBAG". On the steering wheel and indicator light "SRS" on the control panel.
Airbag (1) located behind the steering wheel and connected to the fastened seat belts and belt tensioner, providing better protection to the driver.
Functioning (readiness for work) airbag support system is indicated by the indicator light "SRS" (3) on the control panel. If the key in the steering lock is in position 1 or 2, the control lamp lights up for about 4 seconds. If it does not light up, does not go out, flickers, or lights up during the trip, then there are some violations. Support system "SRS" thus does not work. In this case, we suggest that you immediately visit the service, i.e. there is a risk of refusal "SRS" in case of an accident.
The airbag is designed to inflate only in severe crashes. The driver must be wearing a seat belt, otherwise "pillow" will not protect him in this case.
In minor frontal crashes, rollovers, side or rear collisions, or other crashes in which no powerful front forces are applied, the airbag system will not operate. At the same time, the driver and all other passengers have the usual protection in the form of seat belts.
When the system is triggered "SRS" a small cloud of smoke appears. This smoke is not harmful to health and does not lead to fire.
Best before date "pillows" affixed to the door on the driver's side. When it expires, you should visit the service.
