Removal air using a special installation (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W126)

At service stations, air is removed from the hydraulic clutch drive, as a rule, using a special installation. The installation applies pressure to the brake fluid.

Unscrew the cap of the expansion tank with brake fluid. Remove the float.

Connect the unit according to the operating instructions.

Attach the hose to the clutch slave cylinder air release valve. Place the end of the hose in a bottle of brake fluid.

Keep the air release valve open until air bubbles stop escaping, while pressing the clutch pedal several times.

If there is air in the hydraulic system after repeated bleeding, the slave cylinder must be removed from the gearbox.

With the hydraulic system connected, push the piston pusher into the cylinder until it stops. This allows residual air to escape through the expansion tank and achieves maximum clutch release travel.

Caution: Do not press the clutch pedal when the slave cylinder is removed.


Insert the float into the expansion tank. Add brake fluid to the expansion tank up to the "max" mark. Screw on the expansion tank cap.
