Control panel for the functioning of the automated A/C system
The design of the A/C system control panel is shown in the illustration.
1 - Rotary regulator for setting the speed mode of the fan operation / switch of the Termatic system; 2 - Rotary control for selecting the temperature mode on the left side of the cabin; 3 - Rotary control for selecting the temperature mode on the right side of the cabin; 4 - Rotary regulator for selecting the direction of air distribution; 5 - Button for activating the electric heating of the rear window; 6 - Button for turning on the economy mode; 7 - AUTO mode activation buttons; 8 - Air circulation mode switch; 9 - Button for activating the mode for removing condensate from glasses
Activation/deactivation of the Termatic system
To activate the system, move the rotary fan speed selector from the position 0. Returning the regulator to the zero position allows you to turn off the system.
Attention! When the system is turned off, the supply and circulation of interior air also stops, which can lead to rapid fogging of the windows - try not to turn off the system for a long time when using the car!
Automatic operation mode
The AUTO mode, when the choice of intensity and direction of air distribution is carried out automatically by the system based on the temperature settings specified by the user, is the basic one. To activate the mode, press the AUTO button on the control panel - the control LED built into the button should light up. The choice of the required temperature regime in the right or left side of the cabin is carried out by turning the corresponding rotary knob - try to adjust the temperature regimes in small steps.
Note. The rear window heating can be activated manually if necessary.
Manual adjustment of the intensity and directions of air distribution
The intensity and direction of air distribution can be set manually using the side rotary knobs on the control panel after the automatic mode has been previously disabled using the corresponding button, - the built-in control LED of the AUTO mode must go out, - the previously selected temperature settings will change.
The intensity of the air supply can be changed within 5 steps of the fan speed modes.
Attention! By setting the air flow rate to zero, the Termatic system is switched off! This setting should only be selected for a short time.
The choice of air distribution direction provides the following options:
- Air supply for blowing the windshield and side windows
- Air supply for blowing glass, to the front level and to the foot wells
- Air supply to the front and rear footwells
- Air supply to the front level
Returning to automatic mode can be done by pressing the AUTO button again - make sure that the control LED is activated correctly.
Window condensate removal mode
To quickly remove condensate from the windows, press the button, the control LED built into the button should light up. At the same time, the system automatically ensures that the heater and fan are switched to maximum performance, and the entire flow of air supplied to the passenger compartment is redirected to blowing the windshield and side windows with turning off its supply to the rear of the passenger compartment. If equipped, the electrically heated windshield is automatically activated. Adjustment of all other settings, with the exception of the heated rear window function, is blocked for the duration of the activation of the mode.
Attention! The heating element of the heated windshield consumes a lot of electricity, so you should not activate it for a long time - there is no timer to turn off the heating!
To turn off the mode, just press the same button again, or the AUTO button.
Note. To remove condensate from the outer surface of the windshield, select the air supply mode for blowing glass () and activate the windshield wipers.
Air circulation mode
Activation of the air circulation mode is done using the button
on the A/C control panel, - the control LED built into the button should light up. In this mode, the supply of fresh air to the passenger compartment is turned off, which helps prevent exhaust gases and unpleasant odors from entering the passenger compartment.
Note. Prolonged use of the circulation mode leads to fogging of the windows and an increase in the stuffiness of the air, therefore it is recommended to activate this mode only if it is really necessary and for a relatively short time, for example, when driving in an area with a smoky or gassy atmosphere. As soon as it is no longer necessary to isolate the passenger compartment, the fresh air supply must be restored.
Pressing the switch button again restores the air supply.
There is also an automatic shutdown of the circulation mode by a timer signal: after about 30 minutes at an outdoor temperature of 5°C and above, or after 5 minutes at an outdoor temperature below 5°C. The five-minute setting is also activated when the economy mode of the system is selected (see below).
Note. At high outdoor temperatures, the 30-minute activation of the circulation mode can be performed automatically and is not accompanied by the activation of the control LED of the pushbutton.
Economy mode
When the economy mode is selected, the A/C compressor is switched off.
To activate the mode, press the ACoff /REST button on the control panel - the control LED built into the button should light up.
Note. On models of the corresponding configuration, the additional heater is also automatically switched off.
ECO mode disables Termatic functions such as cooling and dehumidification.
The mode is turned off by pressing the same button again.
Engine residual heat utilization mode
The passenger compartment can be heated for some time after the engine has stopped by using the residual heat accumulated by the mass of the power unit. The mode is activated using the ACoff /REST button on the control panel - the control LED built into the button should light up.
Before activating the engine residual heat mode (REST) turn the ignition key to position 1.
When the mode is activated, the intensity and directions of the air supply are adjusted automatically (usually the minimum fan speed is selected). The duration of the operation of the system depends on the selected temperature settings and the initial temperature of the engine coolant.
Note. A prerequisite for using the REST mode is that the battery has sufficient charge.
The mode is turned off automatically by a timer signal after approximately 30 minutes, when the key in the ignition switch is turned to the position 2, as well as a noticeable decrease in the battery charge level.
Rear window heating
The heated rear window only functions in key position 2 in the ignition switch. The rear window heating element is activated using the corresponding button on the system control panel - the control LED built into the button should light up.
Note. In winter, before turning on the heating, remove frost and snow from the glass.
Attention! The heated rear window heating element consumes a lot of electricity, so you should not activate it for a long time.
Heating is automatically turned off by a timer signal after approximately 6-17 minutes, depending on the outside temperature and vehicle speed.
Note. The rear window heating can also be turned off when a large number of electricity consumers are activated at the same time, as well as when the battery charge level is noticeably reduced - the control LED built into the button starts flashing. With the restoration of the voltage level, the heating element is activated automatically.
