Removal
1. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the distributor cover.
2. Remove the runner from the end of the distributor shaft (see fig. 5.2).

3. Check the condition of the surface of the metal contacts of the runner. If corrosion or significant pitting or wear is detected, the runner should be replaced. Likewise, if the plastic part has cracks or signs of breakdown, the runner should be replaced.
Installation
4. Place the runner onto the end of the distributor shaft, making sure that the lug on the inner surface of the runner is aligned with the corresponding recess on the end of the shaft.
5. Install the distributor cap and tighten the mounting screws.
