This chapter is designed to help the home mechanic keep his car in top working order, extend the life of his car, and save money.
This chapter lists the main maintenance steps, which are further explained in detail in the relevant sections. This includes: inspection, adjustments, replacement of components and other useful materials. To determine the location of components, refer to the above figures, which show the engine compartment and the bottom view of the car.
Perform maintenance of the machine according to the schedule in accordance with the mileage or time, and the relevant section of this manual will give you the necessary information on the sequence of operations and the features of their implementation. The maintenance plan offered to you is exhaustive, i.e. having completed some of its points and not completed others, you will not get the expected result.
As you service your vehicle, you will soon discover that many procedures can be performed with less effort if they are performed in conjunction with other, even if unrelated, procedures. For example, if you have to lift your vehicle to inspect or repair the suspension, you should also inspect the exhaust system and power steering lines.
Before you start any work, you should prepare for it. Read all the sections that relate to the planned work, then make a list and prepare all the tools, devices and materials that you will need for this. If any problems arise, consult a specialist in advance.
