Removal and installation a coil spring (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140)

Removal

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Remove the shield (72) from the lower arm.

3. Remove the cross rod (69).

4. Disconnect the wiring from the brake pad wear indicator from the lower arm (72) (arrow).

5. Install the compression plates (01b) and (01c).

6. Raise the lower arm (72) until the drive shaft is in a completely horizontal position.

7. Install the compression device (01) for the spring.

8. Compress the spring.

9. Disconnect the lower arm (72).

10. Remove the spring (73) with the bushing (74), wipe the lower arm (72).

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Replace the nut (72b) and bolts (69a) and (69b). Make sure the brake pad wear indicator wiring is installed correctly.
