1. Remove the transfer case (see Section Removal and installation the transfer case).

2. Remove the connecting flange (9) for connecting the rear axle drive cardan shaft.

3. Remove the cover (7) of the intermediate flange bearing (see Section Removal and installation the intermediate flange bearing cover).

4. Remove the bearing (7) from the cover (5).

5. Replace the seal (8) fitted in the cover (see Section Replacing oil seals).
