Intermediate flange installation details
1 - Bearing cover output flange; 2 - Upper back cover; 3 - Intermediate flange cover; 4 - Intermediate flange; 5 - Transfer case housing


1. Remove the transfer case (see Section Removal and installation the transfer case) and fix it on the mounting stand.

2. Remove the transfer case servomotor (see Section Removal and installation the transfer case servomotor).

3. Remove the intermediate flange (4).

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - if necessary, select adjusting washers in order to normalize the axial clearances of the input and intermediate shafts.

5. Finally, do not forget to initialize the servomotor using the STAR DIGNOSIS reader - contact the specialists of the Mercedes-Benz branded service station for help.
