Center differential installation details
1 - Tapered roller bearing; 2 - Differential; 3 - Adjusting ring; 4 - Bearing cover output flange; 5 - Upper back cover; 6 - Intermediate flange cover; 7 - Intermediate flange; 8 - Transfer case housing


1. Remove the intermediate flange (7) (see Section Removal and installation the intermediate flange).

2. Remove the center differential assembly (2) from the transfer case housing.

3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - do not forget to correct the axial play of the shafts by selecting adjusting washers.

4. Finally, do not forget to initialize the servomotor using the STAR DIGNOSIS reader - contact the specialists of the Mercedes-Benz branded service station for help.
