1. Remove the hinge casing (1) together with the drive shaft and take out the latter (see Section Removal and installation front axle drive shafts).

2. Remove the wheel hub (see Section Removal and installation front wheel hubs).

3. Remove the sealing ring (7).

4. Remove the outer race (2).

5. Remove the tapered roller bearing (3) and oil seal (4).

6. Thoroughly wipe the removed components, prepare a replacement if necessary.

7. Install the end cover (8) and outer race (9).

8. Install the outer race (5).

9. Lubricate the bearing (3) and place it in its regular place in the casing (1).

10. Install the seal (4), having previously lubricated it around the perimeter with sealant.

Note: Seals with a rubberized lip do not require installation with sealant.


11. Install the outer race (2).

12. After applying sealant, install the sealing ring (7), seating it flush in the socket (no deeper than 0.3 mm).

13. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components.
