Windshield wiper drive electric motor installation details

1. Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the differential lock solenoid valves from their supports and lower them down (Y68, Y68/1 and Y68/2), - try not to damage the vacuum lines.

Note: Before disconnecting electrical wiring and vacuum lines, be sure to mark them accordingly to ensure they are connected correctly during reassembly.


3. Remove the reservoir (2) from the mounting bracket (1) and, without turning it over, lower it down - try not to spill the brake fluid.

4. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) hood switch (S62).



5. Unscrew the screws (arrows) securing the ventilation line retainer on the mounting bracket. Place the ventilation lines under the refrigeration lines (4) and, lowering them, move them to the side. Remove the mounting bracket (1).

6. Remove the cover (3) of the electric motor (M6/1) of the windscreen wiper drive.

7. Disconnect the electrical wiring, unscrew the fasteners (arrows) and remove the electric motor (M6/1) from the supports (arrows).

8. Having moved the electric motor (M6/1) forward, acting through the window in the bulkhead, pry and separate the drive rod (5) from the crank (6) - try not to bend the rod.

9. Remove the electric motor (M6/1) completely.

10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

11. Finally, read the DTC codes and clear the on-board diagnostic system memory using the STAR DIAGNOSIS scanner (6511 1801 00) (See Chapter Engine electrical systems) and perform basic programming procedures.

1. Remove the rear wiper (see Chapter Body).



2. Remove the cover (1).

3. Release the fasteners and, without tilting, remove the center section of the upper tailgate trim panel.

4. Disconnect the connector (M6/4x1) of the drive motor wiring (M6/4).

5. Unscrew the mounting bolts (3) and remove the electric motor (M6/4).

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
