During operation, your vehicle is exposed to a variety of external influences. These include weather conditions, road conditions, exposure to sea air and industrial emissions.

These circumstances require periodic maintenance of the body, as well as the underbody of the car.

Remove damage from stone chips and dirt such as insects, bird droppings, tree resin, oil, grease and fuel as quickly as possible.

We have selected care products and developed recommendations for you that are specially designed for our cars and are constantly evolving, adapting to the modern level of technology.

You can buy car care products at any service station "Mercedes-Benz".

Scratches, aggressive deposits, corrosion and damage caused by irregular or improper maintenance cannot always be removed with the products recommended below. In such cases, it is best to contact a service station "Mercedes-Benz".

Engine wash

The use of cleaning agents is generally no longer necessary.

Clean with a car wash using a high-pressure water jet or steam jet, avoiding direct contact of the water jet with the generator - if necessary, cover the generator.

Car wash

  • Car shampoo.

Do not wash your car in the sun.

Then rinse thoroughly with a stream of water. Treat the ventilation system inlet with only a weak stream of water. Use plenty of water. Rinse the sponge and chamois frequently. Rinse the shampoo off the car with clean water and dry thoroughly with chamois.

In winter, remove any remaining road salt as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

When washing the underside of your car, don't forget the inside of the wheels.

In case of heavy contamination, it is recommended to pre-clean the car before washing in an automatic installation.

Note: After washing your car in a car wash, make sure the mirrors are fully extended outward, otherwise they may vibrate.

Bitumen stains

  • Automotive bitumen stain remover.

Bitumen stains should be removed as quickly as possible; removing old bitumen stains is difficult.

Wet the remaining insects with a solution of car shampoo.

Apply before washing your car.

Paintwork, parts installed on a vehicle with a paintwork coating.
  • Preservative car polish, polish, paint cleaner, polishing cotton wool.

Do not apply directly to the sun or to a hot hood.

Preservative car polish protects the paintwork and maintains its shine.

Use polish for heavy soiling.

The polish is also used to remove minor scratches on varnished wooden parts.

Paint and varnish cleaner is used to clean old and weathered paint and varnish coatings.
  • Polishing paste.

For polishing heavily soiled and weathered paintwork, as well as for removing minor scratches by polishing.

Caution: To prevent staining, ensure that the products do not come into contact with parts installed on the vehicle (for example, door handles, rubber gaskets).

  • Varnish pencil, aerosol.

For quick temporary repair of minor damage to paintwork.

Regularly entrust one of the service stations "Mercedes-Benz" checking the paintwork of your car for minor damage.

Decorative details

  • Care product for chrome parts. Used for routine care.

Light alloy wheels

  • Car shampoo, cleaner for light alloy wheels.

Light alloy wheels should be cleaned once a week if possible. Use a soft sponge, plenty of warm water and car shampoo.

If this is not enough, use a light alloy wheel cleaner.

Follow the "Instructions for Use".

Important!

Acidic and alkaline cleaners may cause corrosion of wheel mounting bolts or balance weight retaining springs.

Headlights, taillights, additional direction indicator lights

  • Car shampoo, car glass cleaner, insect remnant remover.

For this, use a soft sponge, plenty of warm water and car shampoo.

For heavy soiling, use a car glass cleaner or insect remover.

Important!

Do not rub or scrape plastic diffusers, or apply strong pressure to them.

Do not use a mosquito repellent sponge or solvent (fuel, thinner, etc.).

Cleaning the system sensors "Parktronic" on bumpers

Clean dirty sensors "1" with clean water or water with added car shampoo.

When using steam jets or high-pressure water jet cleaners, only clean the sensors briefly, maintaining a minimum distance of 10 cm between the nozzle outlet and the sensor.

To avoid scratching, do not use dry, rough or hard cloths, rub, scrape or apply pressure to the sensors.

Glass washing

  • Auto glass cleaner.

Clean your windows regularly with a car window cleaner.

Also suitable for plastic diffusers.

Windscreen washer fluid (apply only to the outside).

It is used in case of heavy glass contamination, including oils and fats.

Do not use on plastic diffusers.

Attention! You can avoid streaks on your windshield after an automatic car wash by removing wax from the windshield and the rubber elements of the windshield wipers using an auto glass cleaner or glass cleaner.

Windscreen wiper blade

Clean the rubber element of the windshield wiper with a cloth and a solution of detergent, replace the rubber element once or twice a year.

Steering wheel, gear shift lever

  • Car shampoo.

Wipe with a damp cloth and wipe dry.

Dashboard

  • Car shampoo.
  • Anti-fog car glass cleaner, neutral dishwashing detergent or neutral laundry detergent solution.

Wipe with a lint-free cloth dampened with warm solution. Do not use abrasives.

Plastic and rubber parts

  • Car shampoo.
  • Automotive plastic cleaner.

Do not use any other means, do not rub parts with oil or wax.

Drink holder

Do not treat the drink holder with chemical cleaners, but only with clean, warm water.

Please note: To make cleaning easier, the cup holder between the front seats can be pulled up when closed.

Car roof headliner

  • Fabric upholstery cleaner.

Clean with a brush, or in case of heavy contamination, use dry foam.

Seat belts

  • Fabric upholstery cleaner.

When cleaning the seat belt webbing, do not use chemical cleaners, but only clean, warm water and soap, do not dry at temperatures above 80°C or by direct exposure to sunlight, do not bleach or repaint the belts. This may affect their working condition.

Seat upholstery

Due to contact with dyed fur covers or clothing (for example, suede) the color of the seat upholstery may change. Such stains cannot be removed. By using a suitable lining, such changes in the color of the upholstery can be avoided.

Fabric upholstery of seats

  • Car shampoo, fabric upholstery cleaner, stain remover.

Clean frequently with a brush and vacuum cleaner. In case of heavy soiling, clean with dry foam.

Leather upholstery of seats

  • Car shampoo, fabric upholstery cleaner.

Wipe the leather upholstery with a damp cloth and wipe dry. The back of the perforated leather should not be allowed to get wet. Therefore, it should be cleaned with special care.

Refrigerated box

Remove all melt water. Use only neutral household detergent to wash the cavity of the refrigeration box. Wipe dry after washing. Wipe the lid sealing gasket with a damp cloth, making sure that no water gets into the lid insulation.
