1. The installation details of the steering gear input unit are shown in the accompanying illustration, to which all references in the text refer.

2. Place the front wheels in a straight-ahead position and secure the steering wheel using a special device.

3. If equipped, remove the right heat shield (105d) of the exhaust system.

4. Remove the nut (25e) and the bolt securing the input unit (25) of the steering gear.

5. Loosen the nut (25d) of the bolted connection of the input shaft of the unit (25) with the lower shaft of the steering column (80a).

6. Gently pull upwards to release the input unit (25) from the steering gear control valve assembly - do not use force under any circumstances - if necessary, slightly loosen the lock with a screwdriver!

7. If equipped, remove the casing (25f) of the inlet unit.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - when installing the input unit, the rack must be in neutral (central) position.
