1. The relevant illustrative material is presented in the illustrations, to which all references found in the text refer.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the driver's front airbag module (120) (see Chapter On-board electrical equipment).
4. Disconnect the horn wiring connectors (38b and 38c).
5. Place the front wheels of the vehicle in a straight-ahead position, then lock the steering column by removing the key from the ignition switch.
6. Holding the steering wheel (32), unscrew the bolt (32c) - the bolt must be replaced without fail.

7. Carefully remove the steering wheel (32), being careful not to damage the electrical wiring.
8. Check the condition of the spiral contact drum (A45) of the horn and airbag wiring; replace it if necessary (see below).

9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - ensure that the landing markings are aligned correctly.

2. Remove the steering wheel (see above).
3. Loosen the screws (32h) just enough to allow the contact drum (A45) to be removed - the bolts also act as a rotation protection.
4. Carefully remove the spiral drum assembly (A45) from the steering column housing pipe.
5. Disconnect the connector (38d) of the drum assembly wiring (A45).
6. Assess the condition of the drum (A45), - the upper (32f) and lower (32g) sections of the drum assembly are securely fastened to each other by means of clamps. Replace defective components, - try to prevent the spiral spring (32e) from being pinched when connecting the drum sections.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the drum (A45) is seated completely - the recess should be aligned with the locking tongue (arrow), if necessary, center it.
