Note. Checking and replacement should be carried out when the axle gearbox is warm.
Front axle
Location of filler/control plugs (1) and drain (2) front axle housing holes
Examination
1. Thoroughly wipe the surface of the axle housing around the filler/control plug (1) holes.
2. Unscrew the plug - the oil level in the crankcase should reach the lower cut of the hole, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustment (use the funnel). Make sure that the plug is tightened to the required torque.
Replacement
1. Prepare a draining container of a suitable size.
2. After wiping the surface of the crankcase, around both holes, turn out the filler (1) and drain (2) traffic jams.
3. Wait until the oil flows out, then screw in place and tighten the drain plug with the required force (2), - if necessary, replace the sealing washer beforehand.
4. Pour the required amount of fresh oil of the required grade into the gearbox housing through a funnel - the oil level should reach the lower cut of the filler / control hole.
5. Screw in and tighten the plug (1).
Rear axle
Location of filler/control plugs (1) and drain (2) rear axle housing holes
The procedure is the same as described above for the front axle.
Note. In order to ensure normal access to the filler / control plug, the car must be lowered on its wheels.
