Front Drive Shaft Flange and Double Row Radial Thrust Hub Bearing Installation Details


1. The installation details of the front drive shaft flange and radial thrust hub bearing are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the steering knuckle (see Section Removal and installation of steering knuckle, replacement of ball joint).

3. Using an extractor, remove the drive shaft flange (9) from the steering knuckle.

4. Using special pliers, remove the retaining ring (9p).

5. Using an extractor, release the double-row radial thrust bearing (9n) from the steering knuckle.

6. If necessary, release the inner bearing race from the drive shaft flange and replace the latter.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, finally making the necessary adjustments to the wheel alignment angles.
