1. Installation details of the drive shaft joint dust boots (front and back) are shown in the illustration, to which all references found in the text refer.

2. Remove the appropriate drive shaft (see Section Removal and installation the parking brake pedal).

3. Loosen the fastening clamps and remove the protective cover from the corresponding hinge.

Note: If it is necessary to replace the inner boot, the outer joint must first be removed.


4. Using a suitable punch/puller, remove the outer CV joint from the shaft, then remove the outer/outer and inner boots.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - to avoid damage to the dust boots when fitting onto the shaft, wrap the splined journal of the latter with electrical tape. Be sure to replace the retaining rings (37o and 37q).
