Installation details of the parking brake cocking pedal
Note. All self-locking bolts and nuts must be replaced without fail!
1. The details of installing the parking brake cocking pedal are shown in the illustration, to which all references in the text refer.
2. Preload the slack adjuster (compensation lever) drive cable.
3. Remove the cover (71) pedal assembly.
4. Remove the parking brake cocking switch (S12).
5. Disconnect cable (85) from the tension earring on the pedal (75) and release it from the retainer using a special tool (043), - try not to drop the rubber ring (85s).
6. Loosen the bolt (72) and remove the pedal assembly (75).
Attention! Do not loosen the TORX head bolts on the back of the assembly!
7. Remove bracket (77a) and disconnect the parking brake release cable (79) from control lever (77), then disconnect the cable from the pedal assembly (75) with the aid of a device (010) and take it off.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally unload the slack adjuster (compensation lever) and adjust the parking brake actuator (see Section Parking brake actuator adjustment).
