Note. All self-locking bolts and nuts must be replaced without fail!
Front cable
Installation details of the parking brake cocking pedal
1. The installation details of the front section of the parking brake cable assembly are shown in the illustration, which includes all references in the text.
2. Preload the slack adjuster (compensation lever) drive cable.
3. Disconnect the cable (85) from intermediate lever (91) and with the help of the device (043) release it from the latch on the floor panel.
4. Remove the cover installed on the left under the instrument panel.
5. Remove the carpet panel.
6. Using fixture (043) disconnect cable (85) from the parking brake pedal (75), - try not to drop the rubber ring (85s).
7. After loosening the nut, loosen the cable cover in the footwell.
8. Remove the retainer (85a) and push the cable through the grommet (85b) in the transmission tunnel.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally unload the slack adjuster (compensation lever) and adjust the parking brake actuator (see Section Parking brake actuator adjustment).
Rear cable
Installation details of the rear section of the parking brake cable assembly
1. The installation details of the rear section of the parking brake cable assembly are shown in the illustration, which includes all references in the text.
2. Remove parking brake shoes (see Section Replacing parking brake shoes).
3. Disconnect the cable (86) from compensation lever (92).
4. Using fixture (043) release the rope (86) from the fixings on the floor panels.
5. Release the rope (86) from the hub assembly.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
