Parking Brake Pedal Installation Details


1. The installation details of the front section of the parking brake cable assembly are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Pre-tension the slack adjuster (compensating lever) drive cable.

3. Disconnect the cable (85) from the intermediate lever (91) and use the tool (043) to release it from the retainer on the floor panel.

4. Remove the cover installed on the left under the instrument panel.

5. Remove the carpet panel.

6. Using the tool (043), disconnect the cable (85) from the parking brake pedal (75), - try not to drop the rubber ring (85c).

7. After loosening the nut, loosen the cable cover in the foot well.

8. Remove the retainer (85a) and push the cable through the bushing (85b) in the transmission tunnel.

9. Installation is done in reverse order. Finally, unload the slack adjuster (compensation lever) and adjust the parking brake drive (see Section Adjusting the parking brake drive).

1. The installation details of the rear section of the parking brake cable assembly are shown in the illustration to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the parking brake shoes (see Section Replacing the parking brake shoes).

3. Disconnect the cable (86) from the compensation lever (92).

4. Using the tool (043), release the cable (86) from the fasteners on the floor panels.

5. Release the cable (86) from the hub assembly.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
