Installation details of the stepper motor (M2/4) for the ventilation flap drive
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then remove the instrument panel (see Chapter Body).
2. Remove the evaporator housing to floor panel support bracket (see Section Removal and installation of the air conditioning system evaporator and its casing).
3. Remove the three mounting screws (1) (tORX type heads), disconnect the connector (3) of the electrical wiring and remove the electric motor (M2/4) of the air damper drive from the heater/evaporator casing (in the bulkhead area).
4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
5. Finally, the electric motor (M2/4) should be normalized using the STAR DIAGNOSIS reader - contact a Mercedes-Benz service station for assistance.
6. Do not forget to also clear the memory of the on-board diagnostic system processor (see Chapter Engine electrical systems).
7. Make sure that the air conditioning system is functioning properly.
