Petrol models
EGR valve installation details on petrol models
19 - Inlet manifold; 89 - EGR valve; 89/1 - EGR pipe; 89/2 - Vacuum control unit; 89/3 - Union nut; a - Vacuum from the intake manifold; b - Controlled depth vacuum from the EGR transducer to the EGR valve; Y31/1 - EGR Vacuum Transducer
1. Remove the powertrain cover/air cleaner (see Section Removal and installation air intake tract components).
2. Remove the intake air duct assembly with the MAF sensor (see Section Removal and installation air intake tract components).
3. Loosen the union nut (89/3) on the EGR valve (89).
4. Disconnect the EGR pipe (89/1) from the intake manifold (19) and the cylinder head.
5. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the EGR transducer (Y31/1).
6. Remove the EGR valve (89).
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - to avoid jamming of the throttle actuator lever, ensure that the vacuum tube coming from the EGR transducer (Y31/1) is correctly routed.
