Removal and installation exterior door handles (Mercedes-Benz G-Class W463)

Front doors

Front Door Outside Handle Installation Details
1 - Insulating film; 2, 3 - Bolts; 4 - Handle; 5, 6 - Sealing elements; A - Control size

1. Unscrew the bolt (3) securing the handle (4) to the lock assembly.

2. Remove the interior trim and film insulation covering (1) (see Section Removal and installation interior trim of door assemblies), - the damaged film should be replaced.

3. Unscrew the fastening bolt (2) and remove the door handle (4), - if necessary, prepare replacement sealing elements (5 and 6).

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - pre-adjust the dimension (A) between the contact surface of the handle and the actuator bolt of the door lock.

Rear doors

Rear Door Outside Handle Installation Details
1, 2 - Bolts; 3 - Handle; 4, 5 - Sealing elements; A - Control size

1. Remove the interior trim panel (see Section Removal and installation interior trim of door assemblies).

2. Unscrew the bolts (1 and 2) and remove the handle.

3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - do not forget to adjust the control dimension (A) (see paragraph 4 above).
