Steering column switch assembly installation details


1. The details of the installation of the steering column switches are shown in the illustrations to which all references in the text refer.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the steering wheel and the horn/driver front air bag module coil contact drum (see Chapter Suspension and steering).

4. Remove the mounting screws (1) and remove the lower section (2) of the steering column cover.

5. Remove the upper section (3) of the speaker housing.

6. Remove the side trim panels (12), - if equipped, disconnect the electrical wiring connectors on the panels.

7. Remove the screws (4) and disconnect the connector (9).



8. Loosen the screw (8) and remove the cruise control switch (S40).

9. Remove the screws (5) and release the combined steering column switch assembly (S4) from the clips (6) and remove it from the steering column shaft (7).

10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
