Driver's front airbag module installation details for models produced from 01.09.01
1. The driver's front airbag module installation details are shown in the illustrations to which all references in the text refer.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the mounting screws (2).
4. Separate the airbag module (1) from the steering wheel.
5. On models produced from 01.09.01, release the clamps (3) on the electrical wiring connectors (4 and 5).
6. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) (4/4 and 5) of the gas generator igniter.
7. Remove the airbag module completely (1).
Attention! The module to be disposed of must be discharged in advance in a car service workshop!
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - make sure that the latch(es) of the contact connector(s) are securely snapped into place.
9. After completing the installation, make sure that the return mechanism of the combined steering column switch operates properly, and finally, perform SRS diagnostics using special equipment (contact car service specialists for help).

Details of installation of the front passenger airbag module on models produced up to 31.08.01
1. The installation details of the passenger front airbag module are shown in the illustrations to which all references in the text refer.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the instrument panel (1) (see Chapter Body).
4. On models produced from 01.09.01, release the clamps (3) on the electrical wiring connectors (4 and 5).
5. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) (4/4 and 5) of the gas generator igniter.
6. Loosen the self-locking nuts (2) and remove the passenger front airbag module.
Attention! The module to be disposed of must be discharged in advance in a car service workshop!
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - make sure that the latch(es) of the contact connector(s) are securely snapped into place.
8. Finally, perform SRS diagnostics using special equipment (contact car service specialists for help).
