Note: The time the vehicle is idle with the battery disconnected is not taken into account by the ASSYST system when calculating the time for the next scheduled maintenance and should be taken into account when displaying warning messages.
Note: The scheduled maintenance indicator informs the vehicle owner about the OPTIMAL time for maintenance and its readings are not related to the engine oil level.
Example of displaying information about the timing of scheduled maintenance (according to list A)
Approximately one month before the next check date, when the ignition is turned on, the ASSYST system automatically displays one of the following possible messages on the multifunctional screen:
- "SERVICE A/ IN xx DAYS" (THE VOLUME OF WORK ON THE A/V MUST BE COMPLETED IN xx DAYS);
- "SERVICE A/ IN xx km" (THE VOLUME OF WORK ON THE A/B MUST BE PERFORMED AFTER xx km OF MILEAGE);
- "SERVICE A/ B - DUE NOW!" (COMPLETE THE VOLUME OF WORK ON A/V MAINTENANCE!);
After approximately 30 seconds the message should disappear from the screen automatically. If necessary, the indication can be forcibly switched off by pressing the reset button on the left side of the instrument cluster (see illustration Layout of control components on the instrument panel and steering column).

If the scheduled maintenance procedure is overdue, a warning is displayed on the display screen "SERVICE A/B EXCEEDED BY xx DAYS" (COMPLETION OF THE VOLUME OF WORK ON THE A/V MAINTENANCE IS OVERDUE BY xx DAYS) or "SERVICE A/B EXCEEDED BY xx KM" (THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE MILEAGE BEFORE PERFORMING THE VOLUME OF WORKS FOR A/B MAINTENANCE IS EXCEEDED BY xx KM), additionally accompanied by a signal buzzer.
When performing scheduled maintenance at a Mercedes-Benz branded service station, the ASSYST system readings are reset by station specialists. If necessary, (if the service was performed under the terms of the company's service station) the reset can be done by the car owner himself. Turn on the ignition - the basic page should appear on the multifunctional display screen (see Section Instrument cluster, gauges, control lamps and indicator lights). Hold the button
Note: If the ASSYST system indicator reset was performed accidentally, you should contact the specialists of the Mercedes-Benz service station to restore the original data.
If necessary, the ASSYST indication can be called up forcibly via the corresponding function of the on-board computer (see the car's operating manual - ask in automotive literature stores).
The schedule of current maintenance (MOT) of the vehicle according to lists A and B is presented in Section Schedule of current maintenance.
The amount of mileage remaining before the next maintenance is determined by the driving style and ranges from 15,000 to 22,500 km (365÷730 days). An economical driving style at medium engine speeds and avoiding short-distance trips contribute to its increase.
