- Power steering hydraulic drive. Check the fluid level and top up if necessary. If the amount of fluid in the reservoir has decreased significantly, find out the reason.
- Front suspension ball joints. Check the play and their fastening, as well as the condition of the dust caps.
- Steering. Check the tightness and condition of the steering cuffs, as well as the play of the tie rod ends.
- Cars up to and including identification number 515 389. Check the play of the rear suspension trailing arm support.
- Inspect the chassis components for damage and corrosion.
- VANEO. Check the tightness of the shock absorbers.

1. Place the car on jack stands.
2. Inspect the following chassis parts for damage and corrosion using a flashlight:
- rear suspension trailing arms;
- front suspension wishbone bearings;
- front suspension wishbones;
- all side members.
